Resurrection -tf

John 11:25 ". . . he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live. . . ."

Job 14:13 "O that thou wouldest hide me in the grave, that thou wouldest keep me secret, until thy wrath be past, that thou wouldest appoint me a set time, and remember me!" (The Lord will do this!)

Matthew 22:23-31 "The same day came to him the Sadducees, which say that there is no resurrection. . . . Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God."

(Same thing in Mark 12 and Luke 20)

Acts 4:1-2 ". . . and the Sadducees, came upon them, being grieved that they taught the people, and preached through Jesus the resurrection from the dead." (You bet these religious idiots were grieved!)

Luke 20:36 "Neither can they die any more: for they are equal unto the angels; and are the children of God, being the children of the resurrection."

(ONE "resurrection of life", not two or three like the "pre-trib rapture" folks are always yapping about.)

Matthew 27:50-53 "And [many bodies] came out of the graves after his resurrection . . . and appeared unto many."

(This, among many exceptions to the rule, is "a" resurrection, but is not "the" resurrection.)

[QUESTION: So what is the point of the exception to the rule, here?]

[ANSWER: As always, to show forth the power and sovereignty of Jesus Christ!]

QUESTION: What is the resurrection, really?

ANSWER: John 11:24-25 "Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day. Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection. . . ."

John 5:25-29 ". . . all that are in the graves . . . shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation."

See Hebrews 9:27-28 ". . . it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment. . . ." [resurrection]

Acts 24:14-16 ". . . there shall be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and unjust."

(There is definitely MORE THAN ONE resurrection, but you don't want anything to do with the OTHER one!)

Acts 2:29-34 "He [David] seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption. . . . For David is not ascended into the heavens. . . ."

1st Corinthians 15:51-52 ". . . at the last trump . . . the dead shall be raised . . . and we shall be changed."

". . . till my change come. . . ."

v. 23 "But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming."

Hebrews 6:1-3 ". . . not laying again . . . the doctrine of . . . resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment."

Acts 17:16-31 "Then certain philosophers . . . said . . . He seemeth to be a setter forth of strange gods: because he preached unto them Jesus, and the resurrection." ("Philosophers" will entertain all ideas, except the truth.)

(Shirley McClain can talk forever about "reincarnation", yet she has a serious problem with Jesus Christ.)

v. 32 "And when they heard of the resurrection of the dead, some mocked: and others said, We will hear thee again of this matter." (This subject is a line in the sand; and you’re one side or the other!)

Rom 6:5 "For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection"

1st Cor 15:12-22 "Now if Christ be preached that he rose from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead?"

Philippians 3:7-15 "That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death. . . ."

2nd Timothy 2:15-18 ". . . concerning the truth [they] have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already; and [they] overthrow the faith of some.

HOW WILL YOUR RESURRECTION BE?

Hebrews 11:32-40 "Women received their dead raised to life again: and others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection. . ."

Revelation 22:12 ". . . and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be."

Luke 14:14 "And thou shalt be blessed; for they cannot recompense thee: for thou shalt be recompensed at the resurrection of the just."

Revelation 20:6 "Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years."
