1st Kings 10:23-24 "So king Solomon exceeded all the kings of the earth for riches and for wisdom."

(Ecclesiastes 9:13-16 ". . . the poor man's wisdom is despised, and his words are not heard.")

11:1-8 "But . . . when Solomon was old . . . his wives turned away his heart after other gods. . . ."

v. 14 "And the Lord stirred up an adversary unto Solomon, Hadad the Edomite. . . ."

v. 23 "And God stirred him up another adversary, Rezon the son of Eliadah. . . ."

v. 25 "And he was an adversary to Israel all the days of Solomon. . . ."

(A whole nation suffered because of one man's folly, and it was a great folly.)

Ecclesiastes 10:1 A little folly will stink up the whole thing.

v. 2 The heart is the thing we're concerned with her, not wisdom or riches. (See above underlined.)

Proverbs 28:26 "He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool. . . ."

Jeremiah 17:9 "The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked. . . ."

Ecclesiastes 4:13 "Better is a poor and a wise child than an old and foolish king, who will no more be admonished."

(In other words, forget college along with "hanging out" with your worldly "friends.")

Matthew 13:13-15 "For this people's heart is waxed gross. . . ." (It was always a heart problem!)
