He Has Power Over Life & Death:

The Lord Will Rightfully Take His Power to Himself:
Matthew 28:16-18 “And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.”
The World Shall See Him in Power (but it will be too late for them):
Matthew 24:29-31 “And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.”
26:57-64 “Jesus saith unto him, Thou hast said: nevertheless I say unto you, Hereafter shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.”
Luke 21:27 “And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.”
Satan Also Has Power In This World (He Seeks To Be Like The Lord) But He Is Not Worthy Of It:
Luke 22:53 “When I was daily with you in the temple, ye stretched forth no hands against me: but this is your hour, and the power of darkness.”
Acts 26:16-18 “To open their eyes, and to turn them . . . from the power of Satan unto God. . . .”
Luke 4:5-7 “And the devil, taking him up into an high mountain, shewed unto him all [1] the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. And the devil said unto him, All [2] this power will I give thee, and [3] the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it.”
(Matthew 6:13 again: “. . . For thine is [1] the kingdom, and [2] the power, and [3] the glory, for ever. Amen.”)
(Revelation 4:11 “Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.”)

Satan’s Power Is Not His Own (It Is Given To Him):
(again) Luke 4:6 “And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it.”) [The Lord turned down Satan’s offer.]
EXAMPLES:
Revelation 13:5 “And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months.”
v. 7 “And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.”
v. 2 “And . . . the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.”
QUESTION: What did the beast have to do to receive this power from Satan?
HINT: See Luke 4:6-7 again: “If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine.” [The beast didn’t refuse this offer.]
(The devil does not make this offer to everybody because he doesn’t have to: most people sell out for a lot less.)
(v. 4 “And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?”) [These all sell out just to save their skin!]
QUESTION: Why do they not worship the God who gave power to the dragon, who gave his power to the beast?
ANSWER: Because they are evil!
6:4 “And there went out another horse that was red: and power was given to him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another: and there was given unto him a great sword.”
v. 8 “And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.”
9:3 “And there came out of the smoke locusts upon the earth: and unto them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power.”
QUESTION: What is the point of letting Satan have all this power?
ANSWER: The natural fruit of rebellion against God is made manifest, and the wheat is separated from the chaff.
(Matthew 24:12 “And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.”)
“What kind of a God would let all this evil happen?” — the world
Men Seem To Have Power:
John 19:1-15 “Then saith Pilate unto him, Speakest thou not unto me? knowest thou not that I have power to crucify thee, and have power to release thee?” (Caesar, Pilate, the priests, the mob.)
Romans 9:17 “For the scripture saith unto Pharaoh, Even for this same purpose have I raised thee up, that I might shew my power in thee, and that my name might be declared throughout all the earth.”
And Men Do Have Power Somewhat
1st Corinthians 9:4-5 “Have we not power to eat and to drink?”
Angels Have More Power Than Men
Revelation 18:1 “And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory.”
Matthew 11:11 “Verily I say unto you, Among them that are born of women there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist: notwithstanding he that is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.”
But the Real Power Is in Christ
1st Corinthians 1:22-25 “But unto them which are called . . . Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.”
5:4 “In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when ye are gathered . . . with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ. . . .”

Most Men Give Their Strength To Satan:
Revelation 17:12 “And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast.”

There Is a Warfare Between the Powers (and the Lord is willing to help you make the right decision):
Romans 9:22 “What if God, willing . . . to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction. . . .”
Luke 4:14 “And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about.”

4:36 “And they were all amazed, and spake among themselves, saying, What a word is this! for with authority and power he commandeth the unclean spirits, and they come out.”
9:37-45 “And they were all amazed at the mighty power of God. . . . and they feared to ask him of that saying.”
12:4-5 “Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do. But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell. . . .”
(Satan and his agents do not have this power!)

Mark 6:7 “And he called unto him the twelve . . . and gave them power over unclean spirits. . . .”
Luke 9:1 “Then he called his twelve disciples together, and gave them power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases.”
Luke 10:19 “Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”
Luke 24:49 “And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.”
