The Sabbath

THE COMMANDMENTS:

Exodus 20:

#1 v. 2 “I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.”

v. 3 “Thou shalt have no other gods before me.” [30 words]

#2 v. 4 “Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:”

v. 5 “Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;”

v. 6 “And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.” [90 words]

#3 v. 7 “Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.” [27 words]

#4 v. 8 “Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.”

v. 9 “Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:”

v. 10 “But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:”

v. 11 “For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.” [94 words]

#5 v. 12 “Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.” [22 words]

#6 v. 13 “Thou shalt not kill.” [4 words]

#7 v. 14 “Thou shalt not commit adultery.” [5 words]

#8 v. 15 “Thou shalt not steal.” [4 words]

#9 v. 16 “Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.” [9 words]

#10 v. 17 “Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour’s.” [33 words]

[Observations:]

A. The fourth commandment is longer and contains more words than any of the others.

B. It’s possible that the commandments are not arranged in descending order of importance.

(For example, see Revelation 18:12-13, where the list of “merchandise” in which the whore traffics, places the most important thing last on the list.)

C. The commandments can be grouped into two groups on the basis of who is involved:

(1) The first four commandments pertain to the relationship between you and God.

(2) The last six commandments pertain to the relationship between you and other men.

D. There are half again as many commandments in the second group as are in the first group (6 vs. 4), but there are more than half again as many verses in the first group as in the second (10 vs. 6).

E. Every commandment in the second group has one verse.

F. Only one commandment in the first group has one verse, commandment #3.

Only one commandment has two verses, commandment #1.

Only one commandment has three verses, commandment #2.

Only one commandment has four verses, commandment #4.

G. Only four commandments provide reasoning in them as to why they should be obeyed:

#2 “for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; and shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.”

#3 “for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.”

#4 “For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.”

#5 “that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.”

H. Only two commandments provide an explanation as to why the Lord gave the commandment:

#2 “for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God. . . .”

#4 “For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.”

I. Only one commandment provides an explanation as to why the Lord gave the commandment, the way that he gave it:

#4 “For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.”

J. The commandment which has the most verses (#4), also . . .

(1) has the most words (94);

(2) provides the most reasoning:

a. why it should be obeyed,

b. why it was given, and

c. why it was given as it is given; and

(3) occupies the exact center of the text. (It is at the “heart” of the text.)

K. The fourth commandment contains no “legalisms.”] (That word, as often used by sabbath haters, is not in scripture!)

Isaiah 58:13-14 “If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the Lord, honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words: then shalt thou delight thyself in the Lord; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it.”

L. There is nothing “burdensome” about either the commandment, or the sabbath day itself, or anything surrounding it.

Mark 2:27 “And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath. . . .”

THE COMMANDMENTS are upheld in the new testament (contrary to what you might think if you listen to men).

Matthew 5:17-19 “Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.”

The crafty scribe runs to Romans 13:8 and reads: “Owe no man anything, but to LLLLLLOVE one another: for he that loveth another hath FULFILLLLLLLED the law.” and then emphatically explains that “fulfilled” MEANS “does away with” (by “private interpretation”) even though Paul and the Holy Spirit have defined “fulfill” to mean “establish” (Romans 3:31) and “accomplish” or “perform” (Jeremiah 44:25; John 19:28) which is to say, “make complete.” (The biblical word “fulfilled” never means “done away with.”)

15:9 “But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.” (Exactly!)

Mark 7:7 “Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.”)

John 14:15 “If ye love me, keep my commandments.” (How they whine when they’re forced to read this.)

14:21 “He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.”

15:10 “If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love.”

1st Corinthians 7:19 “Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing, but the keeping of the commandments of God.”

1st John 2:3-4 “And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.” (But, but, but. . . .)

3:22 “And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.”

3:24 “And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us.”

5:2-3 “By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.”

2nd John 1:6 “And this is love, that we walk after his commandments. This is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it.”

Revelation 12:17 “And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.”

14:12 “Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.”

22:14 “Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.”

The Commandments Are Not Divided

Psalm 111:7-10 “. . . all his commandments are sure. They stand fast for ever and ever. . . .”

119:6 “Then shall I not be ashamed, when I have respect unto all thy commandments.”

v. 86 “All thy commandments are faithful. . . .”

v. 151 “. . . all thy commandments are truth.”

v. 172 “. . . all thy commandments are righteousness.”

Each of the Commandments is Upheld in the New Testament

# Exodus 20 New Testament

1 vs. 2-3 Matthew 4:10

2 vs. 4-6 1st John 5:21

3 v. 7 Colossians 3:8

4 vs. 8-11 Hebrews 4:4-10

5 v. 12 Matthew 19:19

6 v. 13 v. 18

7 v. 14 v. 18

8 v. 15 v. 18

9 v. 16 v. 18

10 v. 17 Romans 7:7

Matthew 28:19-20 “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”

(If you’re telling yourself that what the Lord said in the last two verses in Matthew are “just written for the Jews,” then you still have the problem that he said to the disciples (v. 16) to “teach all nations” the same thing!)

The New Covenant for All People

(Many Christians are vaguely aware that a new covenant was made with Israel which would include gentiles; but have no clue as to what that covenant actually was, although it was stated plainly in both the old and new testament.)

Isaiah 56:6-7 “Also the sons of the stranger, that join themselves to the Lord, to serve him, and to love the name of the Lord, to be his servants, every one that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and taketh hold of my covenant; even them will I bring to my holy mountain . . . for all people.”

[This was not written for “the Jews,” but for “the stranger”, “every one”, and “all people”.]

Jeremiah 31:31 “. . . this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; . . . I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.”

Hebrews 8:7-10 “Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah . . . I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts. . . .”

[The new covenant was not a change in the law but a change in its LOCATION. In the first instance the Lord wrote it in stone and entrusted it to the ark, and in the second he wrote it in minds and hearts, and entrusted it to men. The law is not “over” us, for the simple reason that it is IN us! If “the law of God” is NOT in a man, then he is at “enmity against God” and “cannot please God.”]

Romans 8:7-8 “Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.”

LIES USED BY DECEIVERS TO JUSTIFY THEIR DAUGHTER HARLOT TRADITION

“Jesus rose from the dead on the first day of the week.”

Observations on this claim:

(1) It is not true.

(2) Even if it were true, it would mean nothing. The sabbath day is not connected with “when Jesus rose from the dead:” it has do with obeying God as the creator of the universe, as explicitly given by the commandment.

(3) By burying the sabbath day in the lies of Satanic and Catholic enforced human tradition, the glory of Jesus Christ being plainly and powerfully shown as “our passover” is also buried.

(4) Using Mark 16:9 as a proof-text to justify the tradition of “Good Friday” and “Easter Sunday” the phoney churches teach everyone who partakes with them how to wrest scripture and become a complete hypocrite.

Mark 16:9 “Now when Jesus was risen early the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had cast seven devils.”

(1) This verse does NOT tell you WHEN the Lord was “RAISED.” It says nothing about that!

(2) The phrase, “when Jesus was risen”, indicates “state of being,” and conveys no action.

(3) The words, “when Jesus was risen” tell you what state the Lord was in “when” he appeared to Mary Magdalene.

(4) The words, “when Jesus was risen” do NOT tell you when he came to that “risen” state!

(5) The verse DOES tell you that “BEING RISEN” (or, in other words, no longer in a state of death) the first person he “appeared” to was “Mary Magdalene. . . .” WHICH IS THE POINT OF THIS VERSE!

(6) You DO know that the Lord rose sometime BEFORE the women FIRST went to the tomb.

QUESTION: OK, when did the Lord “rise” from the dead?

ANSWER: “In the end of the sabbath” (Matthew 28:1)

Matthew 28:1 “In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre.” [And the Lord was already NOT THERE.]

(1) Most religious people ignore the words, “In the end of the sabbath” here, and justify their doctrine by building on the word “dawn”.

(2) Incidentally, this verse is one of only two times in the entire bible that the word “dawn” is used; and, further, this is the only time that the word “dawn” is translated from the Greek word, “epiphosko” which is otherwise always translated as “to draw on,” “draw toward,” or “draw near.”

Luke 24:28-29 “And they drew nigh unto the village. . . .” (epiphosko)

Luke 24:15 “And it came to pass, that, while they communed together and reasoned, Jesus himself drew near, and went with them.” (epiphosko)

Λ Luke 23:54 “And that day was the preparation, and the sabbath drew on.” (epiphosko)

(1) The words, “as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week” tell you, “as the day began to draw on toward the first day of the week, which takes place in the EVENING, not the morning.

(2) It is still the sabbath day, at “the end of the sabbath,” and, as the sun is SETTING (the first day of the week is drawing on) and the Lord is ALREADY NOT THERE!

(3) This is not “the first Easter morning” (a thoroughly pagan abomination).

(4) Saturday is “dawning” toward Sunday, but this is not “dawn”

(5) The first time the women come to the tomb, in the evening, the Lord is already “risen.”

(6) The Lord intentionally messes up their minds by sending them strong delusion, seeing as how they don’t want the truth anyway. (The word, “dawn” is perfect.)

i.) This is the evening of the sabbath as the day just begins “to dawn toward the first day of the week” (This is Saturday evening at SUNDOWN!)

ii.) The Lord is risen already.)

[The phoney Christian world pretends that the Lord was killed on “Good Friday” in keeping with Satanic tradition, but

(1) the day was not “Good Friday,”

(2) the day was not “Friday.”

(3) the “sabbath” which “drew on” in Luke 23:54 was NOT the weekly sabbath (Saturday):

(4) it was the PASSOVER sabbath, which is reckoned as a day of the month. (See: Exodus 12:1-33)

John 19:31 “The Jews therefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodies should not remain upon the cross on the sabbath day, (for that sabbath day was an high day,) besought Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away.”

[It is repeatedly given that the passover is looming as the Lord prepares himself for slaughter.]

John 2:13 “And the Jews’ passover was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. . . .”

John 13:1 “Now before the feast of the passover, when Jesus knew that his hour was come that he should depart out of this world unto the Father, having loved his own which were in the world, he loved them unto the end.”

John 18:28 “Then led they Jesus from Caiaphas unto the hall of judgment: and it was early; and they themselves went not into the judgment hall, lest they should be defiled; but that they might eat the passover.”

John 18:39 “But ye have a custom, that I should release unto you one at the passover: will ye therefore that I release unto you the King of the Jews?”

John 19:14 “And it was the preparation of the passover, and about the sixth hour: and he saith unto the Jews, Behold your King!”

1st Corinthians 5:7 “Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us. . . .”

[He really was the passover, and he was sacrificed exactly when the passover lamb is sacrificed!]

Referring again to Luke 23:54 “And that day was the preparation, and the sabbath drew on.”:

In Modern Vernacular:

And that [Wednesday] was the preparation, and the sabbath [Thursday] drew on. (epiphosko)

[We get this by working backwards from the latest known time when the Lord could possibly have risen: Saturday EVENING (In the end of the [seventh day of the week] sabbath), just at it was becoming the first day of the week at the setting of the sun.]

So, then: the Lord was crucified on Wednesday afternoon, the preparation day of the passover, and then died at dusk: the Lord’s body is in the grave:

(1) all night and all day Thursday (the high sabbath)

(2) all night and all day Friday (the preparation for the weekly sabbath), and

(3) all night and all day Saturday (the weekly sabbath).

Matthew 12:39-40 “But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas: for as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale’s belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.”

Mark 15:34-37 “And at the ninth hour [3:00 PM on modern clocks] Jesus cried with a loud voice . . . and gave up the ghost.” (Modern “Roman” time keeping pretends that a day begins at “midnight.”)

Matthew 27:46 “And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?”

vs. 57-58 “ When the even was come . . . Joseph . . . went to Pilate, and begged the body of Jesus.”

(Leviticus 23:32 “It shall be unto you a sabbath of rest . . . from even unto even, shall ye celebrate your sabbath.”)

(Nehemiah 13:19 “And it came to pass, that when the gates of Jerusalem began to be dark before the sabbath, I commanded that the gates should be shut, and charged that they should not be opened till after the sabbath. . . .”

Matthew 27:62-63 “. . . the chief priests and Pharisees came together unto Pilate, saying . . . that deceiver said, while he was yet alive, After three days I will rise again.” (Actually, He said more than that!)

Mark 15:42-43 “And . . . it was the preparation, that is, the day before the sabbath. . . .” [It was not “Friday”!]

Luke 23:50-54 “And that day was the preparation, and the sabbath drew on.”

John 19:31 “The Jews therefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodies should not remain upon the cross on the sabbath day, (for that sabbath day was an high day,) besought Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away.”

vs. 1-14 “And it was the preparation of the passover, and about the sixth hour [12:00 noon]. . .”!

Obedient Jews were at home preparing to kill the passover lamb later that day, as they were instructed:

Exodus 12:1-6 “. . . and the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it in the evening.”

(Colossians 2:16-17 “Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.”)

Exodus 12:11 “ it is the Lord’s passover.”

(See: John 19:33 “But when they came to Jesus, and saw that he was dead already, they brake not his legs. . . .”)

QUESTION: Why didn’t they break his legs?

Exodus 12:46-47 “ In one house shall it be eaten; thou shalt not carry forth ought of the flesh abroad out of the house; neither shall ye break a bone thereof. All the congregation of Israel shall keep it.”

QUESTION: What were the priests doing right then, while the congregation of Israel was home preparing the passover?

ANSWER: The priests were preparing the passover exactly as instructed:

John 19:6-7 “When the chief priests . . . saw him, they cried out, saying, Crucify him, crucify him.”

John 1:29 “The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God. . . .”

Jesus Christ was the Passover Lamb, that passover, the real “lamb of God”.

(“Good Friday” wasn’t “good” OR “Friday.”) (Most of the so-called “Christian” world does not want to believe this.)

[Don’t go running to your NEW American Standard, or your NEW International Version, to prove Mark 16:9 contradicts these verses, because you will only prove you don’t know what a “bible” is (and you wouldn’t believe it if you did.) In Mark 16:9 Jesus “was risen” when he appeared to Mary Magdalene on the first day of the week. He was not still dead! All of Satan’s “bibles” say, Jesus “ROSE” on the first day, or “after He HAD risen on the first day,” or “HAVING risen on the first day,” or “when he was RAISED.” These are all intentional lies!]

[The sabbath day has to do with “rest” (Hebrews 4:4) after “creation”, NOT RESURRECTION; yet the Lord WAS in fact resurrected on the sabbath day, not Sunday!]

“The disciples held communion on the first day of the week.” (Acts 20:7 is used as a proof-text.)

Acts 20:7 “And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight.”

[Deceivers take you here to make you think the disciples were holding “Sunday sunrise services.”]

(1) the phrase, “upon the first day of the week”, does not mean “Sunday morning.” It refers to the evening of the sabbath, as the day fades into night, and as the sabbath day becomes “the first day of the week”;

(2) it is still in the evening, following the sabbath day;

(3) the disciples didn’t assemble for the first time here, they had already been assembled;

(4) they “came together” after sundown for the stated purpose, to “break bread” (just like we do)

(5) there is nothing here about “sharing the communion”

(6) Paul preaches an additional 6 hours, not 18 hours!!!; and

(7) even this was somewhat unusual, because Paul was “ready to depart on the morrow” and his friends didn’t want to leave him, and he didn’t stop preaching.

(8) It was an unusually long sabbath day for the brethren (which is the point); and that’s all it was.

“Tithes and offerings were taken up in church on the first day of the week.” (1st Corinthians 16:2 is used as a proof-text.)

1st Corinthians 16:2 “Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come.”

Observations:

(1) Preachers who consider collecting money to be the main event, associate this verse with “Sunday Services,” and they never notice:

(a) that the individual is told to “lay by him in store”, not “put it in the plate when its passed around.” and

(b) that this is the most effective time to have the saints set money aside for the saints at Jerusalem, while the preaching of the previous sabbath is still fresh on their minds; because

(2) money would not be handled, or collected, on the sabbath, as Paul says, “that there be no gatherings when I come.”

[which is never discussed by the people who insist this verse refers to “early Christians having church on Sunday.”

(3) It must be understood that the modern “church” practice of whining for money once every week is neither permitted on the sabbath, nor lawful “for the service of the house of our God” (See: Nehemiah 10:31-32). The errors and ignorance of the present apostasy are used as a basis to wrest 1st Corinthians 16:2, in a pretext to make it appear Paul was raising the first day of the week as the “new Christian sabbath” by claiming he “shifted tithing to Sunday,” when, for exactly the opposite reason, Paul said this, “to sanctify the sabbath day” (Nehemiah 13:18-22):

“. . . that there be no gatherings when I come.”

Nehemiah 10:31-32 “And if the people of the land bring ware or any victuals on the sabbath day to sell, that we would not buy it of them on the sabbath. . . . Also we made ordinances for us, to charge ourselves yearly with the third part of a shekel for the service of the house of our God. . . .”

[This was not done on the sabbath day.]

Nehemiah 13:18-22 “Did not your fathers thus, and did not our God bring all this evil upon us, and upon this city? yet ye bring more wrath upon Israel by profaning the sabbath. And it came to pass, that when the gates of Jerusalem began to be dark before the sabbath, I commanded that the gates should be shut, and charged that they should not be opened till after the sabbath: and some of my servants set I at the gates, that there should no burden be brought in on the sabbath day. So the merchants and sellers of all kind of ware lodged without Jerusalem once or twice. Then I testified against them, and said unto them, Why lodge ye about the wall? if ye do so again, I will lay hands on you. From that time forth came they no more on the sabbath.”

“Jesus gave us new commandments.” [Matthew 22:37-40 is used for a proof-text.]

Read the whole passage: Matthew 22:34-40 begins with a lawyer’s question, asking “. . . which is the great commandment in the law?”

[The Lord answered this request for ONE by giving TWO commandments which are the backbone of ALL the law as he said (in v. 40). The Lord gave NOTHING NEW: he only quoted Deuteronomy 6:5 and Leviticus 19:18.]

(Both of these commandments came from the “LAW,” and both were “given to the Jews.”)

Deuteronomy 6:5 “And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.”

(1) This statement was given in the context of, and in support of, the ten commandments which were just given in the previous chapter! [How blind can a person be?]

(2) Those who use the argument that the Lord replaced the ten commandments with the two commandments in Matthew 22, always complain that the ten commandments “were given to Israel,” but the problem for these hypocrites is that the two commandments that they want to claim replaced the ten commandments, WERE ALSO GIVEN TO ISRAEL!

Deuteronomy 6:4 “Hear, O Israel. . . .” (the introduction to Deuteronomy 6:5)

Leviticus 19:2 “Speak unto all the congregation of the children of Israel. . . .” (introduction to v. 18)

Leviticus 19:18 “Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am the LORD.”

“The sabbath day was given to the Jews.”

(1) What does that prove? ALL of the commandments were given to the Jews,

(2) The Lord spoke nothing to Gentiles!, and

(3) The folks who make these kinds of ignorant statements are deceivers because, out of all the commandments, the sabbath day alone was established before there was any such thing on earth as a Jew!

Genesis 2:1-3 “And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.”

[When the Lord said this, Moses was not even born. The Lord made the sabbath and blessed it, when there was no such thing as an Israelite. It was not “given to the Jews” because there were no Jews to give it to!]

(The sabbath was later made known to the Jews, but was already given to Adam, unless you’re one of those anti-Israel block heads who thinks it was a secret until Jacob!)

Nehemiah 9:13-14 “Thou camest down also upon mount Sinai, and spakest with them from heaven . . . and madest known unto them thy holy sabbath. . . .” (which they had forgotten, exactly like this generation of “Christians” has intentionally and willingly FORGOTTEN!)

“But, we’d seem like a cult.”

Luke 6:22 “Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man’s sake.”

Acts 24:5 “For we have found this man a pestilent fellow . . . and a ringleader of the sect of the Nazarenes. . . .”

“The Sabbath Was Given in the Old Testament.” (So was eating, breathing, and sex! Are you quitting these things?)

Religious officials say, “Oh, tithing, now, that’s different. The church is commanded to tithe.” (?!?)

[Isn’t life strange? Tithing was begun as a custom through Abraham, instituted TO THE JEWS through “ordinances”, never given to the church, never given in the new testament, and clearly disannulled in the new testament (Hebrews 7:5,18), and yet, according to every religious professional on earth, the JEWISH ORDINANCE of TITHING is for the CHURCH while the fourth COMMANDMENT is only for the Jews!]

[Do you know what the definition of a “hypocrite” is?]

Matthew 23:24 “Ye blind guides, which strain at a gnat, and swallow a camel.”

“For Christians, ALL days are HOLY days.”

Satan is clever, but this excuse entirely avoids the issue and the problem. The fourth commandment not only says to remember the sabbath day, but on that day to DO NO WORK; and God commands men to work!

2nd Thessalonians 3:10 “. . . if any would not work, neither should he eat”

(Therefore, ALL days CANNOT be kept alike.)

Exodus 20:9 “Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work. . . .”

While satanically proclaiming that “all days are now EQUAL” (making “the commandment of none effect”) these SAME people angrily try to justify the magnifying of SUNDAY above all other days, as was instituted by their SPIRITUAL “MOTHER.” (This is a “spiritual” battle. _-Ephesians 6:12)

They “religiously” observe the first day of the week as established by the power of the old unholy Catholic whore (accusing everybody keeping the seventh day as being of a “cult”) while SAYING that “all days are equal,” to justify the change; so that YOU are in serious error if you keep the day the Lord gave, instead of the one THEY set up to replace it. (Under this new “equality,” one day is definitely LESS EQUAL than the other.)

“Well, that’s just our tradition [keeping Sunday].”

Mark 7:1-9 “Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.”

Acts 5:29 “We ought to obey God rather than men.”

Colossians 2:8 “Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.”

1st Peter 1:18 “Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers. . . .”

2nd Thessalonians 3:6 “Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw yourselves from every brother that walketh disorderly, and not after the tradition which he received of us.”

(and Paul Kept The Sabbath.)

Acts 13:42-44 “And when the Jews were gone out of the synagogue, the Gentiles besought that these words might be preached to them the next sabbath. Now when the congregation was broken up, many of the Jews and religious proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas: who, speaking to them, persuaded them to continue in the grace of God. And the next sabbath day came almost the whole city together to hear the word of God.”

17:2-4 “And Paul, as his manner was, went in unto them, and three sabbath days reasoned with them out of the scriptures . . . of the devout Greeks a great multitude. . . .”

18:4 “And [Paul] reasoned in the synagogue every sabbath, and persuaded the Jews and the Greeks.”

“So what’s the big deal if we changed the day?”

(A) “We” didn’t change the day.

(B) YOU didn’t “change the day.”

(C) SATAN changed the day,

i.) the “pope” took credit for having the authority to make the change; and

ii.) YOU’RE just lazy and went along with it!

Daniel 7:25 “And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws. . . .”

Proverbs 24:21 “My son, fear thou the Lord and the king: and meddle not with them that are given to change. . . .”

“The sabbath is done away with because Jesus HARVESTED on the sabbath.”

(1) The bible does NOT say that the Lord harvested on the sabbath day.

(2) The bible does NOT say that anybody “harvested.”

Luke 6:1-11 “. . . and his disciples plucked the ears of corn, and did eat, rubbing them in their hands.”

[The Lord defended his disciples against the insane and wicked accusation that they did “that which is not lawful to do on the sabbath days.”] (Do you call it “harvesting” when YOU go to the cupboard and make a sandwich?)

See: Matthew 5:19 “Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven. . . .” (Is this who you make the Lord out to be?)

“Jesus HEALED on the seventh day. That did away with it.” (I get this all the time.)

[That is the same Satanic, false-accusing conclusion the Pharisees came to. THEY accused the Lord of violating the sabbath because they HATED him, not because there was any merit to the charge.] (What’s your motive?)

See: Luke 6:7 “And the scribes and Pharisees watched him, whether he would heal on the sabbath day; that they might find an accusation against him.”

The word of God never said it was unlawful to “heal” or to “do well” on the sabbath, THEY did!

See: Matthew 12:11-12 “Wherefore it is lawful to do well on the sabbath days.”

[The charge of “sabbath-breaking” is phoney, and the Lord is guiltless! The scribes and Pharisees hated the Lord because He healed ON ANY DAY. It was a hard act to follow. The Lord was preaching the doctrine that love and mercy are always right (even on the sabbath) which evil men then took to mean that the Lord was all wrong, and which evil men now take to mean the SABBATH is all wrong. (Either way, they’re rejecting the Lord.)]

“Keeping Sunday shows the Lord’s death.” (This is another lie.)

1st Corinthians 11:26 “For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord’s death till he come.”

THE LORD KEPT THE SABBATH.

Mark 1:21 “And . . . straightway on the sabbath day he entered into the synagogue, and taught.”

Luke 4:16 “And [Jesus] came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read.”

13:10-17 “And he was teaching in one of the synagogues on the sabbath.”

6:6 “And it came to pass also on another sabbath, that he entered into the synagogue and taught. . . .”

IT IS THE LORD’S INTENTION AND KNOWLEDGE THAT THE SABBATH WILL BE KEPT IN THE FUTURE.

Matthew 24:20 “But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day. . . .”

(We never would have thought to pray for that, which is why he told us to!)

IT IS SATAN’S INTENTION THAT THE SABBATH SHOULD NOT BE KEPT.

Daniel 7:15-25 “And he shall . . . think to change times and laws. . . .”

Revelation 12:9 “And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent . . . which deceiveth the whole world. . . .”

Psalm 19:7-11 “Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward.”

QUESTION: How is the Lord’s servant warned by the commandments?

ANSWER: When somebody tries to convince you to break them, or justifies breaking them, you know he’s of Satan.

Psalm 119:115 “Depart from me, ye evildoers: for I will keep the commandments of my God.”

Matthew 7:23 “And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.”

THE REWARD COMES BY FAITH, IGNORING THE PATH THE WORLD HAS CHOSEN.

Romans 12:2 “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”

Psalm 119:126-127 “It is time for thee, Lord, to work: for they have made void thy law. Therefore I love thy commandments above gold; yea, above fine gold.”

Hebrews 11:7 “By faith Noah . . . condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.”

SUNDAY IS NOT “THE LORD’S DAY” (and neither is the sabbath).

Revelation 1:10 [This day was not a day of the week at all, unless you’re a Papist and reject the REAL lord’s day!]

A GENERAL LIST OF VERSES ON THE SABBATH

Exodus 16:23-29 “See, for that the Lord hath given you the sabbath, therefore he giveth you on the sixth day the bread of two days; abide ye every man in his place, let no man go out of his place on the seventh day.”

20:8-11 “Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.”

31:14-16 “Ye shall keep the sabbath therefore; for it is holy unto you: every one that defileth it shall surely be put to death: for whosoever doeth any work therein, that soul shall be cut off from among his people.”

34:21 “Six days thou shalt work, but on the seventh day thou shalt rest: in earing time and in harvest thou shalt rest.”

35:2 “Six days shall work be done, but on the seventh day there shall be to you an holy day, a sabbath of rest to the Lord: whosoever doeth work therein shall be put to death.”

[How can anyone be so ignorant as to say the sabbath doesn’t matter?]

v. 3 “Ye shall kindle no fire throughout your habitations upon the sabbath day.”

Numbers 15:29-36 “And while the children of Israel were in the wilderness, they found a man that gathered sticks upon the sabbath day. . . . And all the congregation brought him without the camp, and stoned him with stones. . . .”

Nehemiah 10:31 “And if the people of the land bring ware or any victuals on the sabbath day to sell, that we would not buy it of them on the sabbath, or on the holy day. . . .”

13:15-22 “In those days saw I in Judah some treading wine presses on the sabbath, and bringing in sheaves, and lading asses; as also wine, grapes, and figs, and all manner of burdens, which they brought into Jerusalem on the sabbath day: and I testified against them in the day wherein they sold victuals.”

Isaiah 56:1-8 “Blessed is the man that doeth this, and the son of man that layeth hold on it; that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and keepeth his hand from doing any evil.”

58:13-14 “If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the Lord, honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words: Then shalt thou delight thyself in the Lord. . . .”

Jeremiah 17:21-27 “Thus saith the Lord; Take heed to yourselves, and bear no burden on the sabbath day, nor bring it in by the gates of Jerusalem. . . .”

Acts 13:42-44 “And the next sabbath day came almost the whole city together to hear the word of God.”

THE ATTITUDE AND HEART CONDITION OF THOSE WHO ARE DECEIVED

(Ezekiel 20:16 “Because they despised my judgments, and walked not in my statutes, but polluted my sabbaths: for their heart went after their idols.”)

(v. 24 “Because they had not executed my judgments, but had despised my statutes, and had polluted my sabbaths, and their eyes were after their fathers’ idols.”)

(Amos 8:4-7 “Hear this, O ye that swallow up the needy, even to make the poor of the land to fail, saying, When will the new moon be gone, that we may sell corn? and the sabbath, that we may set forth wheat, making the ephah small, and the shekel great, and falsifying the balances by deceit?”)

Luke 13:10-17 “The Lord then answered him, and said, Thou hypocrite, doth not each one of you on the sabbath loose his ox or his ass from the stall, and lead him away to watering?”

John 7:19-24 “If a man on the sabbath day receive circumcision, that the law of Moses should not be broken; are ye angry at me, because I have made a man every whit whole on the sabbath day?”

9:1-16 “Therefore said some of the Pharisees, This man is not of God, because he keepeth not the sabbath day. Others said, How can a man that is a sinner do such miracles? And there was a division among them.”

[The Lord’s enemies today say that he didn’t keep the sabbath day; but they are liars and bear false witness.]

PROPHECIES

Isaiah 56:1-7 “Also the sons of the stranger . . . every one that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it . . . even them will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer: their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon mine altar; for mine house shall be called an house of prayer for all people.”

THE SYMBOLISM [The sabbath day has to do with “rest”.]

Exodus 23:10-11 “And six years thou shalt sow thy land, and shalt gather in the fruits thereof: but the seventh year thou shalt let it rest and lie still; that the poor of thy people may eat: and what they leave the beasts of the field shall eat. In like manner thou shalt deal with thy vineyard, and with thy oliveyard.”

v. 12 “Six days thou shalt do thy work, and on the seventh day thou shalt rest: that thine ox and thine ass may rest, and the son of thy handmaid, and the stranger, may be refreshed.”

THE TRUTH is that keeping the sabbath day declares openly that:

(1) you believe on the real Jesus Christ, the Lord God of Israel, the Lion of the tribe of Judah

(2) you serve that real Jesus Christ

(3) you believe he will return

(4) you believe he will destroy this world’s Satanic government,

(5) you believe he will rule the world himself for a thousand years in the future,

(6) you’re happy about it, and

(7) you couldn’t care less what the world thinks about it.

The week: Six thousand years of the government of man on earth (which is to say six thousand years of war, robbery, bribery, poverty, fear, suffering, injustice, and death) and then, finally, a thousand years of rest.

Genesis 29:27 [The “week” represents a group of “seven of something”. “Seven” is the number of completion.]

2nd Peter 3:8 “But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.”

Revelation 20:1-7 “Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.”

Isaiah 9:6 “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder. . . .”

Isaiah 11:6-10 “And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall stand for an ensign of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and his rest shall be glorious.”

As keeping the seventh day identifies with government by the Lord, keeping Sunday on the other hand represents:

the love of government by men, and of Satan;

obedience to the world and its traditions, and the love of the world and its traditions;

a plain expression of the fact that the world rejects the God of heaven;

contempt of the Jews;

rejection of the Jews, and the God of the Jews;

conformity to the world, and the approval of things conforming to the world;

a desire to please men;

disregard for obeying the Lord;

being at ease with the world;

willingness of men to blind themselves in self-justification;

an open display of Satan’s power to deceive and mock the Lord by establishing his own rule on earth, that is fully accepted and confirmed by man;

an indicator of the clear fact that Jesus Christ does not presently rule on this earth;

an indicator of the clear fact that Jesus Christ does not presently rule over you;

that you are ignorant of history;

that you are ignorant of the Lord’s word;

that you are unconcerned with the Lord’s word;

that you are ignorant of doctrine concerning obedience;

if knowledgeable about these things (as many are), a declaration of which god it is that you actually do serve;

REBELLION against the Lord (whether a man claims to be a Christian or not);

disbelief of (and non-acceptance of) the coming END of rule by man (Satan), (the “a-millennial” position);

rejection of the Lord’s future rule on the earth for a thousand years (the seventh “thousand years” – “of rest”).

[Fully half of the “denominations” utterly and openly deny this truth anyway.]

Psalm 2:1-4 “Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying, Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us. He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.”
