Should Christians Celebrate Christmas?

Long before December 25th was associated with the birth of Jesus Christ the Lord, winter celebrations have been observed in various ways around the world. From the Norse celebrating Yule to the ancient romans celebrating saturnalia in honor of their pagan god Saturn. The question that I am going to propose is this: Should Bible believing christians celebrate christmas? Before you answer, lets begin by looking at the history of this day and also how ancient pagan practices have been left behind for centuries. Continue reading Should Christians Celebrate Christmas?

Should Christians Celebrate Halloween?

Halloween a day celebrated around the world when people dress up in costumes, collect candy from neighbors and have parties, but do you ever take time to think about the origins of Halloween? Most people don’t think twice about participating in it saying “It’s all in fun” or “It’s not evil to me”, but is this so called hallow evening really so innocent? Are there ties to paganism and Satanism? Shall we as Christians celebrate Halloween or should we have an alternative name for it like Harvest Festival?  Before we get into those questions let’s take a closer look at the history of this night and how it all started. Should we fear God?

My God is many things He is Merciful, He is Righteous, He is Love and also He is a consuming fire(Heb 12:29) that will take vengeance on this world (2nd Thess 1:8). Is this some type of contradiction in the Bible, can God be all of these things, can God be a God of Love and a God of vengeance? Yes he can and He is all of these things. The Bible does tell us in Luke 12:5 to fear God, but in 1 John it says “There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear:..” Is this a contradiction? Do we fear God or not? Let’s look at the Bible (King James) for the answer. Continue reading Should we fear God?

The Biological Evolution of Flight (The Evolutionist’s Mantra)

You see, children, millions and millions of years ago, in response to ecological pressures from other evolving biological elements that escaped the primordial soup; the natural selection process operating on ancient dinosaurs produced the modern bird through a well understood series of accidents and random genetic mistakes. There is certainly no need for superstition here in explaining any of this, as there is clearly no evidence of design in the modern bird. Just as we can imagine how a tornado moving through a junk yard could fashion a modern computer (complete with flat panel monitor and laser printer) it can be easily imagined how a bird, which is merely infinitely more complicated than a computer, could be similarly formed, given the dinosaur spends enough time in the tornado, so to speak. Millions and millions of years ago. . . . Continue reading The Biological Evolution of Flight (The Evolutionist’s Mantra)

Psalm 23 (modified to suit the tastes of 21st century Americans)

The federal government is my shepherd; I shall not want.  The human services division maketh me to lie down in perfect social conformity:  the family planning center leadeth me into approved government goals.  The Civil Liberties Union restoreth my rights to discover my true inner potential:   federal guidelines leadeth me in the paths of politically correct behavior for the sake of my homosexual federal legislators.  Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of global enslavement, I will fear no evil:  for  my social worker is with me; workman’s compensation and welfare, they comfort me.  Government food stamps preparest a table before me in the presence of my deductible dependents: medicaid anointest my head with acceptable risk pharmaceuticals; my entitlements runneth over.  Surely my corporate pension and social security benefits shall follow me all the days of my federally mandated participation:  and I will dwell in government housing for ever.  World government without end, Amen.

“It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man.”

— Psalm 118:8

“Thus saith the Lord; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man. . . .”

— Jeremiah 17:5

“For what is the hope of the hypocrite, though he hath gained, when God taketh away his soul?  Will God hear his cry when trouble cometh upon him?”

— Job 27:8

“Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is.”

— Jeremiah 17:7

Resurrection and Tribulation

The “Rapture” or “Blessed hope” is a time when all Christians with faith enough will get caught away, raptured up, and saved from this earth. It will be a time when God will rescue his followers from the horrible tribulation and times of trouble. We will meet Christ in the air and never have to suffer for Christ’s sake. Does this sound good to you? Sure it does, but it is a complete and utter lie. Jesus will return to destroy this earth and Jesus will resurrect us, but this so-called rapture where Jesus rescues us before anything bad happens will never come. Who are the saints?

Are you a saint? I know I am and if you are saved by the blood of Jesus Christ you are too. Over and over again the Bible refers to these saints as those that belong to God, so why do some pick and choose where there sainthood fits in. Let me explain. Some say there is an event coming soon where Jesus will return and Rapture us away before the tribulation here on earth; this event flies in the face of what the Word of God says. Revelation 13 speaks of the beast that causes the whole earth to worship him and causes great tribulation on the earth and kills all that do not worship him. Let’s look specifically at verse 7 it reads “And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.” Remember what you said, you’re a saint right? If God is going to Rapture us away before anything bad happens to us and rescue us from the tribulation, why does the Bible warn us to be prepared for something we aren’t even here for?
