What happens in this world is quite often the result of spiritual power in high places on earth, or in heaven, which powers are not seen. Also, there is a spiritual war raging which is not seen; however this war is reflected in the earth, which results in great events which are seen.

Ephesians 6:12 "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places."

Hosea 10:1-4 "Israel is an empty vine, he bringeth forth fruit unto himself: according to the multitude of his fruit he hath increased the altars . . . thus judgment springeth up as hemlock in the furrows of the field."

Genesis 20:1-7 "Now therefore restore the man his wife; for he is a prophet, and he shall pray for thee, and thou shalt live: and if thou restore her not, know thou that thou shalt surely die, thou, and all that are thine."

Genesis 17:1-8 "And I will make my covenant between me and thee, and will multiply thee exceedingly. * * * And I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee . . . all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession. . . ."

22:1-18 "By myself have I sworn, saith the Lord, for because thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only son: that . . . I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven . . . and in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice."

Exodus 7:1-5 "And the Lord said unto Moses, See, I have made thee a god to Pharaoh. . . . And I will harden Pharaoh's heart. . . ."

Jeremiah 23:10-20 "For the land is full of adulterers; for because of swearing the land mourneth; the pleasant places of the wilderness are dried up, and their course is evil, and their force is not right."

Hosea 4:1-3 ". . . because there is no truth, nor mercy, nor knowledge of God in the land. * * * Therefore shall the land mourn, and every one that dwelleth therein shall languish, with the beasts of the field, and with the fowls of heaven; yea, the fishes of the sea also shall be taken away."
