QUESTION: Why do sissy "Christians" in this context always refer to:
1st John 4:18 "There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love."
ANSWER: Because they are afraid of absolutely everything EXCEPT the Lord!
Isaiah 8:12-14 "Sanctify the Lord of hosts himself; and let him be your fear, and let him be your dread."
(1) This kind of fear does not mean "like respect"!
(2) This kind of fear is a totally healthy and sane reaction to the knowledge of the true Lord God Almighty.
(3) This kind of fear is NOT "done away with in the new testament."
1st Chronicles 16:25-33 "For great is the Lord, and . . . he also is to be feared above all gods."
(The people fear other gods, but not the Lord!)

[If He is still the same, why would you think that the fear of him should not still be the same?]
Luke 5:18-26 ". . . they glorified God, and were filled with fear. . . ." (This was a GOOD thing!)
7:11-16 "And there came a fear on all: and they glorified God. . . ."
12:4-5 "But I will forwarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him." (The same is in Matthew 10:28)
Acts 9:31 ". . . the churches . . . walking in the fear of the Lord, and in the comfort of the Holy Ghost, were multiplied."
13:13-16 "Men of Israel, and ye that fear God, give audience."
Romans 3:10-18 ". . . There is no fear of God before their eyes." (concerning the enemies of God)
2nd Corinthians 7:1 ". . . let us cleanse ourselves . . . perfecting holiness in the fear of God."
Ephesians 5:8-21 "Wherefore be ye not unwise. . . Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God."
