Proverbs 19:1 "Better is the poor that walketh in his integrity, than he that is perverse in his lips, and is a fool."
Do they talk about money and wealth all the time?
Matthew 12:34 ". . . out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh." (This was always a "heart" condition!)
1st Timothy 6:4-6 "He is proud, knowing nothing . . . and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself." (Entire religions and their false doctrines are built upon this lie.)
Matthew 15:14 "Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch." (and for this reason all of the new age "prosperity churches" are in the ditch.)
Do they tell you God will make you rich if you tithe like you should? (Tithing is disannulled -- Hebrews 7:5,18)
(1st Corinthians 14:37-38 "But if any man be ignorant, let him be ignorant.")
Proverbs 11:4 "Riches profit not in the day of wrath: but righteousness delivereth from death."
v. 28 "He that trusteth in his riches shall fall: but the righteous shall flourish as a branch."
13:7 "There is that maketh himself rich, yet hath nothing: there is that maketh himself poor, yet hath great riches."
2nd Corinthians 6:3-10 "But in all things approving ourselves as the ministers of God . . . as having nothing, and yet possessing all things." (This verse is far too powerful to be received of persons who suppose that gain is godliness.)
Proverbs 18:11 "The rich man's wealth is his strong city, and as an high wall in his own conceit."
23:4-5 " Labour not to be rich . . . for riches certainly make themselves wings; they fly away as an eagle toward heaven."
28:11 "The rich man is wise in his own conceit; but the poor that hath understanding searcheth him out."
16:18 "Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall."
28:20 "A faithful man shall abound with blessings: but he that maketh haste to be rich shall not be innocent."
v. 22 "He that hasteth to be rich hath an evil eye, and considereth not that poverty shall come upon him."
Psalm 49:6-13 ". . . the fool and the brutish person perish, and leave their wealth to others." (Every time!)
James 2:5 "Hearken, my beloved brethren, Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith. . . ?" (Oops!)
1st Corinthians 1:26-31 "For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called: but God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; and base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: that no flesh should glory in his presence." (Missed the whole point, did you?)
Hebrews 13:5 "Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have. . . ."
Psalm 37:16 "A little that a righteous man hath is better than the riches of many wicked."
Proverbs 15:16-17 "Better is little with the fear of the Lord than great treasure, and trouble therewith."
Hosea 13:6 ". . . they were filled, and their heart was exalted; therefore have they forgotten me." (So you want to be rich?)
Matthew 19:24 "It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God."
1st Timothy 6:7-10 "But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows."
Ecclesiastes 5:10 "He that loveth silver shall not be satisfied with silver. . . ."
7:12 "For wisdom is a defence, and money is a defence: but . . . wisdom giveth life to them that have it."
Matthew 6:19-21 "Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth . . . but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven . . . for where your treasure is, there will your heart be also."
(Proverbs 23:7 ". . . For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he. . . .")
Luke 12:15 "Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth."
