Matthew 16:18 [The Catholic "proof-text" for Peter.]
(Peter is NOT the Rock!)
The Symbolism
Leviticus 14:1-6 "And the priest shall go forth out of the camp. . . ."
Hebrews 13:11-14 "Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered without the gate. Let us go forth therefore unto him without the camp. . . ." (He was the passover Lamb! We are a "cult.")
["without the camp": that is, not part of the political and religious structure of THIS world]
Matthew 26:1-5 ". . . after two days is the feast of the passover, and the Son of man is betrayed to be crucified. . . ."
[the day before the passover: "the preparation" day]
John 19:14-20 "And it was the preparation of the passover . . . And they took Jesus, and led him away. . . . into a place called . . . Golgotha . . . nigh to the city. . . ."
(Again in vs. 50-51) ". . . he shall . . . dip them in the blood . . . and in the running water . . . ."
[The cure involves BLOOD and WATER.]
John 19:30-34 "But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out blood and water."
1st John 5:5-6 "This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood."
Hebrews 9:19,22-24 ". . . Moses . . .according to the law . . . took the blood . . .with water. . . ."
F
8:1,4-5 "the example and shadow of heavenly things . . . according to the pattern"[QUESTION: Jesus Christ is the "Lamb of God" and so blood came out. WHAT IS HE that water came out?]
Exodus 17:1-7 ". . . and thou shalt smite the rock, and there shall come water out of it. . . ."
(Also: Deuteronomy 8:15; Nehemiah 9:15; Psalm 114:8)
2nd Samuel 23:3 Jesus Christ is "the Rock of Israel" shown in a figure from the beginning to Israel.
Isaiah 53:4 ". . . we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted."
A One Time Sacrifice: Hebrews 9:1-12 "But Christ . . . by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place. . . ."
vs. 25-26 "Nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest . . . but now once . . . by the sacrifice of himself."
vs. 27-28 "So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many. . . ."
10:10 ". . . we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all."
vs. 11-14 "For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified." (ONCE! unlike the"mass")
[QUESTION: How important is the symbolism?]
Numbers 20:7-11 "And Moses lifted up his hand, and with his rod he smote the rock twice. . . ." (What's wrong here?)
v. 12 [Because Moses did this he never entered into the promised land!]
The Lord is the Rock
Deuteronomy 32:3-4 "He is the Rock . . . a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he."
v. 15 ". . . then he forsook God which made him, and lightly esteemed the Rock of his salvation."
v. 18 "Of the Rock that begat thee thou art unmindful, and hast forgotten God that formed thee." (But they like religion!)
1st Samuel 2:2 "There is none holy as the Lord: for there is none beside thee: neither is there any rock like our God."
2nd Samuel 22:1-3 "The Lord is my rock. . . ." (Yea, Lord!)
Psalm 18:2 "The Lord is my rock. . . ." (So who is your "rock"?)
2nd Samuel 22:32 "For who is God save the Lord? or who is a rock save our God?"
(You were asked a question. What's the answer?)
Matthew 6:24 "No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other: or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon."
[Satan understood this perfectly when he designed Catholicism.]
Psalm 18:46 "The Lord liveth; and blessed be my rock; and let the God of my salvation be exalted." (Not Peter!)
28:1 "Unto thee will I cry, O Lord my rock. . . ."
31:2 ". . . be thou my strong rock. . . ."
v. 3 "For thou art my rock. . . ."
42:9 "God my rock"
61:2 "the rock that is higher than I." (Peter's great grand parents aren't even born yet!)
62:2 "He only is my rock and my salvation. . . ." (There aren't "two rocks" for the church, either!)
v. 6 "He only is my rock and my salvation. . . ."
v. 7 ". . . the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God."
71:3 ". . . for thou art my rock and my fortress."
78:35 "And they remembered that God was their rock. . . ."
89:26 "He shall cry unto me, Thou art my father, my God, and the rock of my salvation."
92:15 ". . . the Lord is upright: he is my rock. . . ."
94:22 "But the Lord is my defence; and my God is the rock of my refuge."
95:1 ". . . let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation."
Isaiah 8:13-14 ". . . he shall be . . . a stone of stumbling and for a rock of offence to both the houses of Israel. . . ."
17:10 "the rock of thy strength"
Daniel 2:31,34,35,45 ". . . a stone was cut out without hands, which smote the image . . . and the dream is certain. . . ."
Acts 4:8-12 "This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders which is become the head of the corner."
("Kingdom Builders" are always building without the foundation! The Lord simply ignores them: Catholics, "Jehovah's Witnesses," Methodists, Presbyterians, Lutherans, Adventists, Ministerial Alliances, World Council of Churches, Ecumenical Alliances, Southern Baptist Convention, YMCA, etc.)
Ephesians 2:8-22 ". . . Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone . . . In whom ye also are builded together. . . ."
1st Corinthians 10:1-4 ". . . for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ."
What's going on with Matthew 16:18 then? (Evil men have a problem with this because they rejected every verse above!)
(2nd Thessalonians 2:10-11 ". . . because they received not the love of the truth . . . God shall send them strong delusion that they should believe a lie. . . .")
Deuteronomy 32:29-31 "For their rock is not as our Rock, even our enemies themselves being judges." (Exactly!)
Romans 1:25 "Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen." (Mary, Peter, "the pope," etc.)
Deuteronomy 32:36-37 "And he shall say, Where are their gods, their rock in whom they trusted. . . ?"
Philippians 3:3 "For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh." (Peter is flesh!)
Matthew 16:18 ". . . and upon this rock I will build my church. . . ." (Who is "this" referring to here?)
John 2:13-22 "Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up." (He said this standing IN THE TEMPLE!)
"But he spake of the temple of his body." (He spoke of himself!)
(It's clear to those that love the Lord who "this" is, but to the world "this" is always something else.)
"upon this rock I will build my church" (In other words: " this rock" is the foundation of the church.)
Isaiah 28:16 "Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone. . . ."
1st Corinthians 3:10-11 "For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ."
Luke 20:9-19 "The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner. . . ."
1st Peter 2:1-9 ". . . unto them which be disobedient . . . a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence. . . ."
Psalm 118:22 "The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner."
Matthew 7:24-25 [The church, like a house, should be built upon a foundation, including every individual in it.]
Psalm 27:5 ". . . he shall set me up upon a rock."
40:2 "He . . . set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings."
Matthew 16:19 [QUESTION: To whom is this said?] (Peter hasn't been made "pope" or anything else here?)
18:1,15-19 "Whatsoever ye [the disciples] shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven. . . ." (said again)
John 20:19-23 "Whose soever sins ye [the disciples] remit, they are remitted unto them. . . ."
[Anything getting "passed on" here, involves the gift of God to believers on Jesus Christ as power within the church.]
Isaiah 48:20-21 "And they thirsted not when he led them through the deserts: he caused the waters to flow out of the rock for them: he clave the rock also, and the waters gushed out."

"Rock of ages, cleft for me, let me hide myself IN THEE." __(Who are we singing this to? a dead man? No, we sing it to a risen Jesus Christ, not to a dead Peter!)
John 4:1-14 "If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee . . . he would have given thee living water.
