THEY SEEK PEACE
Jeremiah 4:10 “Ah, Lord God! surely thou hast greatly deceived this people . . . saying, Ye shall have peace. . . .”
14:13-16 “Then said I, Ah, Lord GOD! behold, the [false] prophets say unto them, Ye shall not see the sword, neither shall ye have famine; but I will give you assured peace in this place.”
23:16-20 “They say still unto them that despise me, The Lord hath said, Ye shall have peace; and they say unto every one that walketh after the imagination of his own heart, No evil shall come upon you.”
Daniel 8:24-25 “And his power shall be mighty, but not by his own power: and he shall destroy wonderfully, and shall prosper, and practise, and shall destroy the mighty and the holy people. And through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many. . . .”
2nd Chronicles 16:9 “Herein thou hast done foolishly: therefore from henceforth thou shalt have wars.”
Psalm 55:21 “The words of his mouth were smoother than butter, but war was in his heart: his words were softer than oil, yet were they drawn swords.” (for example: whoever is currently head of the “United Nations”)

THEY SEEK SAFETY
Psalm 33:17 “An horse is a vain thing for safety: neither shall he deliver any by his great strength.”
Proverbs 22:3 “A prudent man forseeth the evil, and hideth himself: but the simple pass on, and are punished.”
Jeremiah 23:16-17 “They say still unto them that despise me, The Lord hath said, Ye shall have peace; and they say unto every one that walketh after the imagination of his own heart, No evil shall come upon you.”
HOW DO YOU GET PEACE AND SAFETY THEN?
Ephesians 2:11-14 “For he is our peace, who hath made both one. . . .”
Romans 5:1 “Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. . . .”
8:6 “For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.”
10:15 “And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!”
John 14:27 “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”
16:33 “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”
Acts 10:36 “The word which God sent unto the children of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus Christ. . . .”
Leviticus 25:17-19 “Wherefore ye shall do my statutes, and keep my judgments, and . . . dwell in the land in safety.”
26:3-6 “If ye walk in my statutes, and keep my commandments . . . then . . . ye shall . . . dwell in your land safely. And I will give peace in the land. . . .” (But men are too intelligent and educated to get safety that way!)
Proverbs 21:31 “The horse is prepared against the day of battle: but safety is of the Lord.”
18:10 “The name of the Lord is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.”
2nd Chronicles 15:15 “And all Judah rejoiced at the oath: for they had sworn with all their heart, and sought him with their whole desire; and he was found of them: and the Lord gave them rest round about.” (that is, “peace”)
Zephaniah 2:3 “. . . seek righteousness, seek meekness: it may be ye shall be hid in the day of the Lord’s anger.”

61:3 “For thou hast been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy.”

AMALGAMATE THE FOLLOWING VERSES:
Matthew 10:34 “I came not to send peace, but a sword.” (Does this mean that WE take the sword?)
26:52 “all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword”
Ephesians 6:17 We have a better weapon: “the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.”
Hebrews 4:12 “quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword”
