You don’t have to go far to find out the true meaning of Easter. In fact, if you look up Easter in a Webster’s Dictionary the first line will say, “Easter is a name of an old Teutonic goddess of Spring.” Today Easter is celebrated on the first Sunday on or after the first full moon that follows the vernal Equinox. Around the world various pagan rituals were exercised in celebration of the return of the sun. In Germany, for example, they worshiped Ostara, the Germanic fertility Goddess, on this day.
