Genesis 37:1-2(a) “. . . Joseph, being seventeen years old, was feeding the flock. . . .” [He is a shepherd.]

John 10:11, 14 “I am the good shepherd. . . .”

v. 2(b) “. . . Joseph brought unto his father their evil report.” [Joseph brings an evil report of them.]

John 7:7 “The world cannot hate you; but me it hateth, because I testify of it, that the works thereof are evil.”

v. 3 “Now Israel loved Joseph more than all his children. . . .” [Joseph’s father loved him.]

Matthew 17:5 “This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. . . .”

John 3:35 “The Father loveth the Son. . . .”

5:20 “For the Father loveth the Son. . . .”

v. 4 “And when his brethren saw that their father loved him more than all his brethren, they hated him, and could not speak peaceably unto him.” [His brethren hated him.]

John 15:24-25 “. . . now have they both seen and hated both me and my Father. . . .without a cause.”

v. 7 “. . . your [eleven] sheaves stood round about, and made obeisance to my sheaf.” [They bow down before him.]
