One Nation

Matthew 24:1-8 “For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. . . .” (What is “nation” here?)

(Is this Japan against the Unites States, or Germany against England; WWI, or WWII?)

Λ Genesis 12:1-3 (the first use of the word) “. . . And I will make of thee a great nation. . . .” (no ordinary “nation”)

18:16-18 “. . . Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation. . . .”

35:9-11 (through Jacob)

2nd Samuel 7:12-23 “And what one nation in the earth is like thy people, even like Israel. . . ?”

Λ Genesis 15:1-14 (the second use of the word) “. . . And also that nation, whom they shall serve, will I judge. . . .”

(Q) What nation is this? (A) of the sons of Ishmael, the Arab Nation

21:9-18 “And also of the son of the bondwoman will I make a nation, because he is thy seed.”

(Is that the only reason?)

17:15-21 “And as for Ishmael, I have heard thee . . . and I will make him a great nation.”

(Abraham asked for the misery of Israel, and God gave him what he asked for.)

Jeremiah 5:7-16 History and Prophecy: “. . . nation shall rise against nation.” (As in Matthew 24:7)

John 11:47-53 “. . . Caiaphas . . . prophesied that Jesus should die for that nation. . . .”

Genesis 10:8-10 (the first time “kingdom” is used) (This Babel was “the beginning of his kingdom” but not the end!)

Exodus 19:3-6 (and the second time) “. . . And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation.”

Isaiah 60:12 “For the nation and kingdom that will not serve thee shall perish. . . .”

Jeremiah 18:7-10 “concerning a nation, and concerning a kingdom” (The Lord addresses both levels of status.)

(Q) Is Israel a kingdom, now?

(A) Can she be a kingdom with no king?

See: John 18:33-37 (Whether the Lord is a king and Israel is a kingdom is a complex question.)

Matthew 27:42 “If he be the King of Israel, let him now come down from the cross, and we will believe him.”

John 1:49 “Nathanael answered and saith unto him, Rabbi, thou art the Son of God; thou art the King of Israel.”

Luke 17:20-21 “Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.”

(That is, not within “you” personally, but within “you” as a nation!)

Matthew 5:34-35 “Jerusalem . . . is the city of the great King.”

John 6:15 “When Jesus therefore perceived that they would come and take him by force, to make him a king, he departed again into a mountain himself alone.” (The Lord does not seek the honour of men.)

(John 8:54 “Jesus answered, If I honour myself, my honour is nothing: it is my Father that honoureth me; of whom ye say, that he is your God. . . .”

Daniel 8:19-25 After the dust settles, four kingdoms of one nation become one kingdom. (an arab kingdom)

7:8-14 [But his is the end of the story.] (Jesus Christ, the Lord, rules as King to the glory of his Father.)

King David was the “Shadow” of What the Lord would be the Final Fulfillment

Ezekiel 37:15-25 “. . . I will make them one nation . . . and one king shall be king to them all. . . .”
