2nd Timothy 4:1-5 “But watch thou in all things. . . .” (Nothing is said here about getting along with the herd.)

Acts 20:27-31 “Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God. . . .” (Feed with what?) (If you haven’t trashed the Old Testament you’ll know?)

Jeremiah 3:15 “And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.”

Psalm 40:10 “I have not hid thy righteousness within my heart; I have declared thy faithfulness and thy salvation: I have not concealed thy lovingkindness and thy truth from the great congregation.”

The Truth

Psalm 119:30 “I have chosen the way of truth. . . .” (This has to be a conscious decision!)

John 8:31-32 “If ye continue in my word . . . ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

2nd Corinthians 4:1-7 “. . . not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves . . . in the sight of God.”

Romans 2:7-8 “But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth . . . indignation and wrath. . . .”

(Christians contend against the truth in order to justify blending with the world.)

Blending With the World

Romans 12:2 “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind. . . .”

v. 9 “Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.”

Respect for the Other Guy’s Religion

Psalm 138:1 “I will praise thee with my whole heart: before the gods will I sing praise unto thee.”

[Put another way, “before the gods”, is, “in their face” with no respect to them at all!]

Exodus 20:3 “Thou shalt have no other gods before me.”

141:4 “Incline not my heart to any evil thing, to practise wicked works with men that work iniquity: and let me not eat of their dainties.”

Examples of the Lord’s Disrespect for Their Religion:

1st Samuel 5:2-4 “When the Philistines took the ark of God, they brought it into the house of Dagon, and set it by Dagon. And when they of Ashdod arose early on the morrow, behold, Dagon was fallen upon his face to the earth before the ark of the LORD. And they took Dagon, and set him in his place again. And when they arose early on the morrow morning, behold, Dagon was fallen upon his face to the ground before the ark of the LORD; and the head of Dagon and both the palms of his hands were cut off upon the threshold; only the stump of Dagon was left to him.”
