Matthew 15:7-20 “For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies. . . .” (Also: Mark 7:14-23)

1st John 3:15 “Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer. . . .” [The Lord looks on the heart.]

Fornication (Sex outside of marriage.)

2nd Samuel 13:1-15 [Amnon’s wickedness against Tamar.] (This was not love, but lust; and it led to hatred and death.)

Acts 15:20 “. . . we write unto them, that they abstain from pollutions of idols, and from fornication. . . .”

Romans 1:18 — 2:11 “And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, [etc.] . . . who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.”

Adultery, A Certain Type of Fornication

Exodus 20:14 “Thou shalt not commit adultery.”

Matthew 5:17-18 “Think not that I am come to destroy the law. . . .”

v. 27-28 “. . . whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.”

Matthew 5:32 “But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery.”

19:9 “And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery.”
