And the floor of the house he overlaid with gold, within and without. And for the entering of the oracle he made doors of olive tree: the lintel and side posts were a fifth part of the wall. 7:29 “And on the borders that were between the ledges were lions, oxen, and cherubims: and upon the ledges there was a base above: and beneath the lions and oxen were certain additions made of thin work.”

Their wings were joined one to another; they turned not when they went; they went every one straight forward. As for the likeness of their faces, they four had the face of a man, and the face of a lion, on the right side: and they four had the face of an ox on the left side; they four also had the face of an eagle. And when they went, I heard the noise of their wings, like the noise of great waters, as the voice of the Almighty, the voice of speech, as the noise of an host: when they stood, they let down their wings. And there was a voice from the firmament that was over their heads, when they stood, and had let down their wings. And above the firmament that was over their heads was the likeness of a throne, as the appearance of a sapphire stone: and upon the likeness of the throne was the likeness as the appearance of a man above upon it. And I saw as the colour of amber, as the appearance of fire round about within it, from the appearance of his loins even upward, and from the appearance of his loins even downward, I saw as it were the appearance of fire, and it had brightness round about. As the appearance of the bow that is in the cloud in the day of rain, so was the appearance of the brightness round about. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the LORD. And when I saw it, I fell upon my face, and I heard a voice of one that spake.”
3:12-13 “Then the spirit took me up, and I heard behind me a voice of a great rushing, saying, Blessed be the glory of the LORD from his place. I heard also the noise of the wings of the living creatures that touched one another, and the noise of the wheels over against them, and a noise of a great rushing.”
9:3 “And the glory of the God of Israel was gone up from the cherub, whereupon he was, to the threshold of the house.”
10:1-22 “Then I looked, and, behold, in the firmament that was above the head of the cherubims there appeared over them as it were a sapphire stone, as the appearance of the likeness of a throne. And he spake unto the man clothed with linen, and said, Go in between the wheels, even under the cherub, and fill thine hand with coals of fire from between the cherubims, and scatter them over the city. And he went in in my sight. Now the cherubims stood on the right side of the house, when the man went in; and the cloud filled the inner court. Then the glory of the LORD went up from the cherub, and stood over the threshold of the house; and the house was filled with the cloud, and the court was full of the brightness of the LORD’s glory. And the sound of the cherubims’ wings was heard even to the outer court, as the voice of the Almighty God when he speaketh. And it came to pass, that when he had commanded the man clothed with linen, saying, Take fire from between the wheels, from between the cherubims; then he went in, and stood beside the wheels. And one cherub stretched forth his hand from between the cherubims unto the fire that was between the cherubims, and took thereof, and put it into the hands of him that was clothed with linen: who took it, and went out. And there appeared in the cherubims the form of a man’s hand under their wings. And when I looked, behold the four wheels by the cherubims, one wheel by one cherub, and another wheel by another cherub: and the appearance of the wheels was as the colour of a beryl stone. And as for their appearances, they four had one likeness, as if a wheel had been in the midst of a wheel. When they went, they went upon their four sides; they turned not as they went, but to the place whither the head looked they followed it; they turned not as they went. And their whole body, and their backs, and their hands, and their wings, and the wheels, were full of eyes round about, even the wheels that they four had. As for the wheels, it was cried unto them in my hearing, O wheel. And every one had four faces: the first face was the face of a cherub, and the second face was the face of a man, and the third the face of a lion, and the fourth the face of an eagle. And the cherubims were lifted up. This is the living creature that I saw by the river of Chebar. And when the cherubims went, the wheels went by them: and when the cherubims lifted up their wings to mount up from the earth, the same wheels also turned not from beside them. When they stood, these stood; and when they were lifted up, these lifted up themselves also: for the spirit of the living creature was in them. Then the glory of the LORD departed from off the threshold of the house, and stood over the cherubims. And the cherubims lifted up their wings, and mounted up from the earth in my sight: when they went out, the wheels also were beside them, and every one stood at the door of the east gate of the LORD’s house; and the glory of the God of Israel was over them above. This is the living creature that I saw under the God of Israel by the river of Chebar; and I knew that they were the cherubims. Every one had four faces apiece, and every one four wings; and the likeness of the hands of a man was under their wings. And the likeness of their faces was the same faces which I saw by the river of Chebar, their appearances and themselves: they went every one straight forward.”

28:14-16 “Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire. Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee. By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire.”
41:18-20 “And it was made with cherubims and palm trees, so that a palm tree was between a cherub and a cherub; and every cherub had two faces; so that the face of a man was toward the palm tree on the one side, and the face of a young lion toward the palm tree on the other side: it was made through all the house round about. From the ground unto above the door were cherubims and palm trees made, and on the wall of the temple.”

Why is the word “Cherubims” capitalized in Genesis 3:24, but never again?
Since, for example, more than one “angel” is “angels”; what significance is behind the apparent fact that more than one “cherub” is not “cherubs” (or even “cherubim) but “cherubims”; the answer lying obviously beyond the rules of English grammar, since (1) the English speaking world uses the word “cherubs” for the plural, and (2) while English allow frequently for an altogether different form for a noun in its plural, rather than the noun followed by an “s” (such as man/men or ox/oxen), the plural form to my knowledge is never also followed by an “s” as it is in “cherubims”?
Why are cherubims referred to so relatively often in the old testament, but never after Ezekiel?
Why does the Lord, who commanded against graven images (and apparently hates them) choose (1) to dwell with Israel between two graven images of cherubims; and (2) to be known as “the Lord of hosts that dwelleth between the cherubims” as he is repeatedly described?
What is the nature of the “cherubims of cunning work” commanded to be made in connection with the curtains of the tabernacle?
Are the four cherubims that Ezekiel saw, in connection with “wheels” and “eyes” to be understood figuratively, as representing something, (If so, what is represented or what is to be understood?) or is Ezekiel’s description simply a difficult to understand factual account in connection with the Lord’s throne and glory?
Are cherubims a subgroup, or special form, of angel, so that they are, as angels, also “sons of God” (Job 1:6), or are thy, as certain “creatures” or “beasts” used to serve in some manner, but outside of the family or “household of God” (Ephesians 2:19) in the same sense as angels and born again men apparently shall be (or are)?
Is (or was) Satan, who was Lucifer (“the anointed cherub that covereth”), also an “archangel” as Michael is?
Possibly depending upon the answer to #8 above, was the reason that Michael the archangel “durst not bring against [the devil] a railing accusation” because of 1st Corinthians 5:11 and 2nd Peter 2:11 only generally speaking, or because the devil is (or was) “greater in power” and/or greater in some other way as pertaining to created function or capacity by virtue of being a cherub rather than an archangel?
When Paul (in Hebrews 9:5) refers to “the cherubims of glory”, saying “of which we cannot now speak particularly”, does he mean “cannot” as in (1) “doesn’t have enough information to speak abut it in more detail,” or (2) as in “not allowed to talk about it in more detail,” or (3) as in “ it wouldn’t be appropriate to talk about it in more detail”? If (2) or (3) is the case, what significance or meaning should be understood or conclusion drawn?
